道在尿溺:红尘世故里的妖魔鬼怪

An unsparing dissection of human nature and the imperative of aligning with one's inner dao amidst systemic chaos.

Holy shit! People often exclaim in frustration at the unruly world. Yet, observe the human affairs with care, and a pattern emerges: even the most base and foul matter operates according to a strict, internal logic.

The trouble is that the logic of what is foul is not our way, and we walk away. What, then, is our path? How must we act and react amidst a volatile, violent world? The answer demands that we first know ourselves, and then adapt to external shifts without buckling or overreacting.

I. There is a Reason for Everything

The mortal world is no pure land; it is a marketplace of rapacious ambitions. What looks on the surface like lofty moral code, grand vision and macro-ideals is, at its root, simply transactional and profit-seeking. Absurd decisions, endless friction, and institutional hypocrisy repeat themselves across millennia in the service of self-preservation.

Once this is grasped, one ceases to be astonished by the baseness of human nature or to harbor illusions about the magnanimity of the world.

II. Demons and Monsters in Our World

Here are the archetypes operating out of this constrained world.

  • The Pious Predator: Urbane and smiling, they weaponize love, care and attention to consume others under the banner of success and belonging, riding roughshod over personal choice and boundaries to soothe their own deep-seated insecurity.
  • The Petty Schemer: Exceptionally sharp and suave, they excel at reading power dynamics, stroking egos, and opportunistic positioning, masking a total absence of integrity, and proving themselves top-tier experts in the conflict theory of change.
  • The Dogmatic Zealot: Rigid in thought and fueled by self-righteous dogmas, they cling to ideological narratives, slowly suffocating independent thought through policing and bullying.

These figures do not lurk in myth; they sit in high places and walk among us.

III. Insight and Self-Preservation

Everything possesses its own inherent nature (dao), even the demons and the monsters, and one must act in accordance with that specific nature. By harmonizing with the spontaneous order of things, you ultimately benefit from them.

And so, the self, an actor in a transient world, moves through the ever-changing landscape with the absolute elasticity of water, anchored in the unyielding dao of the self, never moving apart from it, thus preserving the self in its purest form.

Let the storms rage and the monsters gyrate, while the spirit remains untamed and serene.
